“Pasažieru vilciens” receives the Sustainability Index Silver award
JSC “Pasažieru vilciens” has received Silver category award in the Sustainability Index 2022, organised by the Institute of Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility (InCSR). We participated in this sustainability and corporate responsibility performance rating for the first time.
“Silver award serves as a proof of responsible movement of “Pasažieru vilciens” towards sustainable development. It runs through the company strategic goals that are based on development of convenient and competitive services that are accessible to passengers, more environment-friendly action both in the internal, and external processes, as well as development of motivational and inclusive work environment. We are fully determined to improve the performance of “Pasažieru vilciens”,” indicates Rodžers Jānis Grigulis, the Chairman of the Board of JSC “Pasažieru vilciens”.
A certificate of conformity to the Silver category was awarded in total to 23 participants of the Sustainability Index, among them “Rīgas satiksme”, the Ministry of Welfare, “LDz apsardze”, “LDz Loģistika”, “Rīgas namu pārvaldnieks”, “Schneider Electric Latvija”.
From more than 130 received applications, the minimum threshold of the Sustainability Index in this year was achieved by 78 organizations – companies, state and municipal authorities, and other organizations, every fifth of these organizations participating in this rating for the first time. The Diamond category award was received by 4 organizations, Platinum – 23, Gold – 20, Silver – 23, and Bronze – 8 organizations.
The Sustainable Index is a strategic management tool, which ensures rating of company performance in all directions of corporate social responsibility in accordance with international requirements. The company performance is rated in five areas - company strategy, work environment, market relations, environmental impact, and society. The index is created in order to promote sustainable and responsible business in Latvia, using an internationally recognised methodology.
